Dear Lactnet Friends:
At the Pennsylvania Breastfeeding Coalition meeting, a member shared with us
a successful strategy that is increasing breastfeeding in her hospital.
There is now a consent form that mothers have to sign to give their babies
formula or anything besides human milk. Nursing staff find it is easier to
bring the mother to the baby than it is to find the right piece of paper,
bring it to the mom, educate the mother about the form, and get a signature.
warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, BSN, Mother of 2, MS, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI, ANLC, CKC
