The following study is newly published:

Effect of Breast Milk on Hospital Costs  and Length of Stay Among Very
LowBirth-Weight Infants in the NICU
Parker et. al
Advances in Neonatal Care August 2012

Here's their conclusion: "No statistically significant differences in
length of stay or cost of care were found between infants
fed at least 50% breast milk and those who were exclusively formula fed.
Descriptive data concerning length of stay and
cost of care for VLBW infants and those infants weighing less than 1000 g
are presented."

I combed the article. The amount of human milk the babies received is
listed as >49% in one place, and "at least 50%" in another.

This article publishes a dismal conclusion....but there is no mention of
any group that received 100% human milk.

So how can their conclusion be useful?
