...not someone who gives a talk but the person who keeps behaviour in check in a parliament.
The South Australian government was going to withdraw the (very, very) small amount of funding that they gave to the SA Branch of the Australian Breastfeeding Association. A group of mums went to the parliament in question time to show that they were upset about this. Good on them. However, what I really love about this was that despite the noise and disruption attendant upon the arrival of these mums and bubs, the speaker told them how welcome they were to be there....NICE! Video athttp://au.news.yahoo.com/sa/latest/a/-/article/15135178/breastfeeding-mums-have-a-win-in-parliament/ Aussie lactnetters might like to send the speaker, Lyn Breuer, an email thanking her for this support. I teared up watching the vid. Such acceptance of mothers and something so important to them (ie breastfeeding) is beautiful.
Oh and they got their funding reinstated.
