Hello all,
Here is my email, written and sent:
"
Hello Dr. Aby,
First off, as an MD at Stanford thank you for everything that you are part
of that helps babies go on to be able to breastfeed, and helps their moms
to help them. Families all over the US, and I would wager all over the
planet, benefit from your work and this website. The videos of Hand Expression
and Maximizing Production have been critical components in this process.
Sadly, though when trying to help yet another mom whose baby was born and
is having serious feeding issues, I see that your site is now covered by a
"restriction" warning about "explicit content." As this is a medical
center's site about things that may be helpful to get normal feeding going, not
a site of pornographic videos, I was shocked to see that. It may be a
small thing to the website, but it's just one more barrier to a frustrated,
emotionally overwhelmed new mother, and it makes breastfeeding and
breastfeeding-related information seem somehow offensive.
Please let me and other interested families and helpers know what we can do
to help your hospital reverse this.
Regards,
Judy
PS I am CCing Dr. Morton due to her instrumental role in getting this info
out in the first place and in case she has a comment on how we can help get
this reversed as well.
