I'm very offended that anyone would think an RN IBCLC has better
experience, is more professional...whatever than
a non-RN IBCLC just because she is an RN. I can point to numerous times a
hospital RN/IBCLC has called ME for information. I think whether someone is
qualified to hold a position needs to be based on an individuals experience
not a standard or minimal requirement...it often excludes those more
qualified overall. :-( So sad.
Ilene Fabisch, IBCLC/RLC
NOT an RN but with 15yrs experience in hospital, community, and private
practice
and I'd go up against any RN IBCLC in knowledge of breastfeeding
support..there I said it!
