Hi All,
I have a woman I am working with who is 4 days after a Caesarean section for a placenta accreta. The placenta had grown through the previous CS scar and was adherent to the bladder. The baby was delivered and the placenta has been left in situ. I talked to both the woman and her husband and asked permission to talk to you all on Lactnet.
Currently her breasts are soft, her milk supply is slightly more than on day one. The baby is being fed by a supply line and sucking well on the breast.
The question:
Has anyone had experience with this and what was the outcome? Was the woman able to breastfeed and did she fully lactate.
She plans to breastfeed, her first child was breastfed for 12 months. Her beta HCG is dropping and we are hopeful that her milk supply will increase once the placenta is no longer producing progesterone.
Thanks for any information you can provide.
