Obviously I am hoping Liz will answer this one too. Where would we be
without you?

So, since IBLCE has made significant changes in its disciplinary
procedure, with no stakeholder input, eliminating most of the
essential rights of an IBCLC who has had a complaint made against
her/him, and without notifiying the people who could feel its sting,
would the NCCA be interested in re-evaluating IBLCE's suitability as a
licensing body before the next scheduled review in 2014?

I'm concerned, because I don't understand whose agenda IBLCE are
carrying out. I don't know what has motivated them to change the
disciplinary process. It seems their legal counsel must either have
been out of town during the whole process or have been not up to the
task of making sure the disciplinary process is in accordance with the
rules everyone else plays by. Given how many times the document
stresses that IBLCE will never do anything without their legal adviser
holding their hand, I doubt counsel was on an extended holiday,
leaving me to assume counsel was simply not very smart.

Is there a channel by which we can reach NCCA to voice our concerns
that our licensing body has been taken over by aliens from Planet
Totalitarian and should not be entrusted to certify IBCLCs until they
rescind the new disciplinary process and go back to the previous one?
Do NCCA care at all what certificants outside the US think?
