means that it is literally harvested locally, or as locally as possible to 
where  one is buying it. The bees are sampling pollen and making  their honey 
from the same plants the person might be reacting to.

For us in Brooklyn, buying NY or NJ honey is possible, especially at  
Greenmarkets and "natural" food stores or food co-ops. We also now  have a 
beekeeper a few blocks from us who is hoping to be able to have enough to  start 
selling it, which I'm looking forward to.
