Learned lactnet members;
Please let me know if anybody remembers a discussion here about the advisability of increasing a caloric intake for a baby by mixing formula powder using breastmilk. I had a doctor ask me this today in the hospital for a case he is handling with a breastfed baby (1 mo w/no gain) who is FTT due to tracheomalacia. He said they are increasing calories this way. Does anybody know if there is research or documentation to show this physician the advisability or lack thereof of this practice.
THank you so much everybody!
Isabella
