It's been brought to my attention that when I mentioned that I often do the legwork for a housecall on the phone, it was incorrect of me to say I do that with my LLLL hat on. It has in fact been quite some time since I have taken an LLL helping call, since most moms find me via a professional referral. I should have just said "volunteer" hat. Because of my background as a LLLL, I am in the habit of talking to moms via phone and a few emails as a volunteer, since I'm the only credentialed bf support person of any sort for quite some distance, except for a brand new WIC peer counselor (Yay!!). So I let callers know at the outset that I'm glad to spend a few minutes as a volunteer, but if they need to be seen, we'll have to formalize things.
Clear as mud?
