Could the die-hard myth about goat's milk being suitable for human
children stem from the word 'kid' used to denote the young of both species?

Interesting question. My sense was, at least where I live, that moms
envision goats as living on a family farm somewhere, eating more naturally and
living more naturally, vs. large factory farms where cows are force-fed
various substances to make them make more milk. So, in this vision cow's milk
would be more laden with unwanted substances and compromised by the
"production" drive of the business person, vs. the "happy, healthy goats" on the
happy little family farms who are in a more natural state. Though, there is
still a lot of ignorance about what the actual differences and similarities
btw. cow, goat and human milks are, this "natural" view is probably a part
of people's continued thinking on the subject. Other than the fact that
goats seem to be more active, and seem to like to stand on tree stumps, and
cows stand around a lot more just eating or lying down snoozing, they seem
pretty similar to me, and both quite different than humans...
