In 2001 an Italian LLL Leader helped a mother who had breast
quadrectomy+radiation therapy on one side and complete mastectomy on
the other breast.
The mother was able to breastfeed (with supplements) the baby and went
on beyond two years.
The story is written in Leaven 2007, vol 43, n 2: I have no idea if
you can have access to the journal, but if you can it is worth
reading, in my opinion.

The other breast was unaffected. She was told that she would not produce milk from that breast and had only been pumping one breast. Baby is sick and in the NICU (and will be for a long time). Mom has other risk factors for decreased supply.
