I FEEL your pain! And they wonder why one of the chief dissatisfiers for consultants is lack of professional respect?

Dear Precious Lactnetters, I am sitting here on a Sat. by myself, as on the weekends there is only 1 of us and I am so burned out, after being accosted all day with pleas to see Breast Feeding emergencies, most of them Iatrogenic I might add. 8 couplets in 5 hours, 4 of them tongue tied, 1 set of twins and too many Late Pre Termers, and of the Mom's only 1 of which had taken any Breast feeding classes or read prenatally. The last case really made me fume, so typical in our Hospital, Baby 16 hours old, already lost 5% and very sleepy at the Breast, the Peds MD asked me to see the patient due to wt loss then 10 minutes later, walks in, consents and takes the Baby to do Circ. And you want me to do WHAT? Wave my magic Breast Feeding wand? Boy I wish I had one of those right about now. And of course this is her second, failed with the first, went to formula and then just gave up, Geez what do you think will happen with this one?!
