I agree with Laura that obtaining 75 cerps will cost a ton of money - even
if you do it all on line, it will run you at least $750.00. That's a lot of
money for those of us who aren't getting rich as LCs and have families to
support (most of us perhaps), besides not getting paid American salaries or
in dollars. Plus we have to pay the recertification fee. Some of my
colleagues have managed to recertify by cerps. I am in now way against
further education, I agree that it is a must and I take pride in the fact
that as an IBCLC I need to recertify every 5 years but I have had to
recertify by exam twice in 10 years because of finances.
Thank God that lactnet is free - to bad we can't get cerps for it!
