Hi,

I am a LLL leader from Montreal and I received yesterday an unusual question. The mother was breastfeeding her 9 months-old son when she felt contractions. The mother is wondering if it is normal to feel contractions so long after birth. I suppose that the uterus could still react to the oxytocin produce during nursing but since it is back to its normal size, I am surprised she can feel these contractions. The mother also said she knows for sure she is not pregnant.

As anyone of you heard of a situation like this.

Thank you,

Kathleen Couillard
