I strongly disagree that this five-week-old newborn is safe. From what
you have said, this neonate is getting 24 ounces per day of a completely
inappropriate homemade juice-and-almond based raw/vegan "formula", and
it looks likely that it is about to cease getting any breastmilk at all.
This baby is not just at risk for short- and long-term deficiencies, it
is at risk for death. There have been high-profile child abuse cases
where babies were murdered with homemade vegan juice-based concoctions.
From the information given here, I would see this as a medical and child
protection emergency.
I don't envy you your situation. It is possible that you are currently
the only person advocating properly for this baby. I really hope there
is a good outcome.
