Recommended by whom?
Mastos Breast Oil contains a mixture of herbal ingredients (phytolacca,
calendula, red clover, mullein, lobelia) and essential oils (lavender,
tangerine, palmarosa, rosemary, celery, and galbanum). I would not use
it on nipples while breastfeeding or on open wounds, and this product
information page concurs:
"Contra-indications and Cautions: For external use only. Consult a
health care practitioner if mastitis symptoms worsen or persist. Do not
use if you are pregnant. Avoid use on or near nipples if breastfeeding.
Do not use on open wounds or broken skin or near eyes. Do not use if
allergic to the Asteraceae family. Occasional hypersensitivity reactions
have occurred in sensitive individuals; discontinue use if this
happens."

Babies should never ingest essential oils.
