First, thanks to all who answered my post on lactnet and privately. I am always humbled by the generosity of information sharing and encouragement here! Good news so far. I followed-up with mom via phone today(her daughter translated). Mom reported breasts feel "swollen" but confirmed baby is able to latch and feed and the swelling "goes down". She said milk flows freely out of her breasts, skin is not hot, and baby is stooling and voiding right on target. She is happy to get the information on bras, too. I can't say enough about this mom's courage and creativity. She let me measure and examine her breasts, nipples, and areolas without complaint ( I know I was clumsy and probably offensively fascinated) , and was cheerful about our false starts when attempting to latch her son. I don't know if I would have been so gracious and calm were the situation reversed! I'll provide updates as the situation continues.
