The WHO code does get a mention right at the beginning, which sounds
promising but they don't follow up on it. The non-discrimination clause
now uses the word "equitable," which I can handle, because I can very
equitably offer people the best care for them, even if that means a
referral. I was deeply distressed, though, to read in the FAQ that the
IBCLE will not discipline an IBCLC working for a formula company. DEEPLY
distressed, as in making a scatalogical reference and having to pay my
children the $1 fine for such outbursts in my home. It felt like an
invitation to the formula companies to start recruiting!
