Logically, what baby receives from breastmilk would help baby wean,
especially if mom weans herself. Fioricet is also L3.
The problem as I see it, is HCPs feel they have control of meds baby is
getting if they put them in baby. They would feel out of control by
wondering how much baby is getting via breast milk.
Whether baby gets meds by HCPs or via breast milk, sedation is the issue.
Probably HCPs would feel obligated to report to child services if mom breast
feeds. Real sticky situation. Mom probably can't wean cold turkey. This is
a good one for Tom Hale's infant risk site! Pat in SNJ
