Just an update, musing about licensure:
I just spent over 10 hours online searching for online courses to meet my
continuing education requirements for Physical Therapy in the state of New
York. Being licensed by state, as opposed to certified internationally like
we are as IBCLCs, I have come upon dead end after dead end of courses which
are available but not accepted by my state, and have come up empty hour
after hour. It really makes me feel better, and much less frustrated that as
IBCLCs we can take any course for vetted CERPS, in person or online and it
is accepted for recertification. I don't have to worry that if I take a
CERP from someone or somewhere in Texas, it won't be acceptable and just
wastes my time and money. Wish me luck!
Sorry I just had to vent.
Peace,
Judy
