Mom gave me permission to post.
"I'm expecting my 2nd child in early September. My last experience was difficult to say the least; I think mainly due to my breast reduction which resulted in little to no feeling in my nipples. I did find that I had almost no supply issues. Does anyone know of someone I could speak with who may have have some experience with this?"
Pat: I met this mom when she came to LLL meetings. By then she was exclusively pumping, and beyond knowing about the reduction I didn't pry. He was 3-4 mo ld. She pumped for the first year (about 8 x a day!)
I asked mom a few questions now tho.
Mom: "My son had trouble latching because he was tongue tied...and I couldn't feel any pain :( so overall it was very difficult, I'd like very much to breast feed this time, especially because I don't know if I'd have the time to pump 8 times a day."
Pat: Feeling very dumb here, I didn't know he was TT. You can be sure I'll be checking newborn immediately this time around. I honestly don't see why BF won't work, as long as no TT and latch is OK. We know she can make milk. Any suggestions appreciated. I'll forward them to her. Thanks, Pat in SNJ
