Hi All,
Well I have a few babies who have had VERY complicated and challenging
situations that left them unable to breastfeed for an extended time period.
They are all between 2 and 4 months of age. The problems have been worked
out but they are not yet breastfeeding, a couple have had a time or two
where they will try, and then refuse. Nipple shields have been helpful one
moment and not the next. Moms have been unable to do a rebirthing bath (one
has a water heater that barely works so not enough hot water to fill the
tub, and the other two have no tubs.). We have done all the standard
'tricks' - bottle feeding like a breastfeeder, skin to skin, happy time at
breast, breast in the face and available all the time, wake up at breast,
etc.suck training, proper bottles for the babies - They are all capable:
They just WON'T.
I am looking for any and all ideas - something new, something I haven't
heard of in 17 yrs or maybe I forgot. Help? The moms will thank you!
Warmly,
Jaye
