A couple of off list emails got my brain moving some more about the
Teen BF Classes.
I also like to include jokes or funny comments. Getting mom laughing
really helps the mood.
I talk about how babies don't know how to tell time. They don't know
they just ate 10 minutes ago. I make jokes about baby falling asleep
in it's food or not being good about staying "on task."
About 2nd night, I talk about the baby figuring out that the closest
it can get to being back in that warm, dark, soothing place is to be
right on you.
I also talk about surrendering and not trying to fight what the baby
is doing. The 1st weeks are difficult regardless of how they choose to
feed their baby. Their lack of sleep isn't because of the
breastfeeding. It likely happens either way.
