Even if she is able to figure out the exact amount of milliliters or ounces a baby may drink at a given day, that's all she knows: volume, not contents. Milk fat levels may vary from almost zero up to 15% or more, depending on feeding schedule, frequency, fullness of the breast, etc. To be sure what exactly a child gets in from breastmilk mom should pump all day, mix the milk, analyze it and measure the amount the child drinks from it. Ridiculous? Sure. Why bother in the first place? Just feed the baby.

I know, I know - it is like asking how long is a piece of string! I have
already explained that it would depend on a multitude of factors, that milk
production is pretty stable after it has been established, and so on. She
needs the info because she wants to calculate how many calories and
nutrients the baby would be getting from milk and how much from other
sources.
Does anyone know if there is any research on this?
