Dr. Nommsen-Rivers said this may be shared and I know several on Lactnet
have requested more information.

I am not sure who at ILCA to direct this information to. I would be so
appreciative if you could route appropriately. I have collected these
details regarding how others may help the Heinig family during this tragedy.
The memorial service:
Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 6:30 pm at Freeborn Hall on the UC Davis campus.
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, that any donations be made to the Scott
Heinig
Youth Baseball Fund at P.O. Box 316, Davis, CA 95617.
A message from Jennifer Banuelos, at the UC Davis Human Lactation Center:
First, the staff at the UC Davis Human Lactation Center would like to thank
everyone who has sent their condolences over the past few days. Jane and her
family mean a lot to us and it is clear from the overwhelming response that
they are cared for by many. As you can imagine, we are busy making sure
everything keeps moving forward at the Human Lactation Center so that she
can focus on her family during this time
We will be sure to pass along the messages we have received so far, but Jane
has asked that, at least for now, any contact should come through our
office.
If you would like to send a card, please use the UC Davis Human Lactation
Center address:
UC Davis Human Lactation Center
Department of Nutrition
One Shields Avenue
Davis, CA 95616
530-752-1629
In addressing a card to the family, Jane's husband is Mark Heinig, their
daughter is Adrienne Heinig.
Other support:
A web site has been set up to coordinate support for the family, so anyone
who
would like to sign up to provide a meal can do so at <
https://www.lotsahelpinghands.com/c/640521/login/>
Also, friends have set up a fund raiser for the family through Davis
Athletic Club (more information is
available at <

More information:
There was a touching article in the local paper about Scott. A friend sent
me this link:

Other thoughts: Mother's Day is around the corner. Consider sending a loving
word around that time. Scott's birthday falls mid-July, which is another
thoughtful time to send a supportive message.
Sincerely,
Laurie
