There are times when I read this list that I am so grateful to have worked in a "poor, under resourced, 3rd world (disadvantaged)" maternity hospital in Cape Town, South Africa where we never bathed babies at all. Skin to skin from birth, bedding in and no bath unless mom did it or when she got home.
Thanks for making me realize once again how lucky I am to have worked in a hospital that encouraged mom's and babies to stay together with relatively little interference. No yuck factor despite HIV pos moms who also do skin to skin from birth without a bath or immersion.
