We use a lot of human donor milk at my hospital. We are currently having freezer issues and the milk has been taken down to the basement. When I asked if a few bottles could be kept in the nurse's freezer I was told absolutely not because some nurse's object to a "body fluid" being kept in the same space as their food. There is a separate fridge for pumping moms (employees, each room has a fridge for pt's) for this reason.

Is there anything out there that says this is absurd? I have looked and I feel like I've seen something, and while I know it's ridiculous, "evidence" may be asked for to support my claim that it is no safety risk to keep any milk in our freezer, but certainly not pasteurized donor milk. Any references is appreciated.
