I am hoping for just a little clarification.
I always check people's medela pumps for mold and also suction. I always
remove the faceplate and disinfect it. I agree with the poster that
compared this to mold on the shower
walls, that disinfecting should be sufficient. If there are black dots in
the tubing, they replace the tubing.
What I would like clarification on is the poster that has opened several
pump-in-style pumps and cultured yeast from them. Where are you culturing
it from?? Are you
opening up the actual pump box and culturing the metal mechanics of the
system?? Or are you culturing the white membrane that is under the
faceplate???
