I wonder if this is coming from a particular source. I have a similar story
but from a feeding specialist/speech therapist giving the haberman and the
advice.
As I work just north of Melissa in Canada I wonder if there isn't a common
link.
>>>told me it was a special bottle that would not cause nipple confusion.
..Of course the Habermans were just worsening the compression issue and we
restructured their care plan completely. However, what totally blew me away
is that the Haberman was totally misrepresented. Perhaps now that it is
called a Special Feeder some providers assume it is different or for a
different purpose? Not sure, but it was being represented and used in a
totally incorrect manner. Because this issue has cropped up with a few
different dyads I thought I'd explore where this misuse/mistundertsanding of
the Haberman is coming from. Are other LCs encountering this misinformation
in their area?
