I think that this is a pretty fair article- better than what could be hoped
for and indeed Eats on Feets seems to be adding to the pressure to those who
have the influence and resources to make banked donor milk more available.
I am glad that there have NOT been any comments about dangerous breastmilk
from the formal milk banking sector published.
I will paste in a little reworking of the Canadian Paediatric Society's
statement- I am sure that they MUST have a real warning about the use of
infant formula but if they could use this- while this is satire , it is
factually correct (apart from the attribution).

OTTAWA - Health Canada advises Canadians to be aware of the potential health
risks associated with consuming infant formula obtained through the their
local supermarket or pharmacy.
Obtaining infant formula from the supermarkets raises health concerns
because it is known that these products are inadequate for the health and
well-being of infants. The Canadian Paediatric Society does not endorse the
use of infant formula.
There is a potential risk that the milk may be contaminated with bacteria
which can cause meningitis or diarrhoea such as Salmonella enteric,
Enterobacter sakazakii and Citrobacter freundii. In addition, foreign
substances such as plastic, glass and beetle larvae have been found to
contaminate infant formula. Improper hygiene when reconstituting the milk,
as well as improper storage and handling, could also cause the milk to spoil
or be contaminated with bacteria and/or viruses that may cause illness.
Breastfeeding is necessary for normal infant growth, health and development;
for this reason, infant formula should not be given to babies.
Health Canada recommends that Canadians consult their health care
professional should they have questions about infant formula or if they are
considering purchasing infant formula or acquiring it through other means.

And, finally, the article does include comment per what Karleen Gribble
anticipated a few days ago, concern expressed by the Canadian Paediatric
Society about informal sharing of milk due to "health risks such as
transmission of infectious diseases or bacteria."
