A mother of a 2 1/2 month old who is returning to full time work has
asked me (by phone) about the Lansinoh Affinity Double Electric
Breast Pump. She was attracted by the fact that it is around $100
less than the Medela Pump In Style or Ameda Purely Yours. She would
buy from a big box store (such as Babies R Us or Target). She lives
in another state.
I talked with this mother about the desireability of buying from a
source that can help you learn to use the pump, the WHO Code of
Marketing and the desirability of purchasing from a company that
respects the Code (such as Hygeia), and the long term considerations
of use of a pump for more than one baby (as recently discussed on
Lactnet.) I shared with her the web sites below for more information
on pumps and pumping:
WorkAndPump.com http://www.workandpump.com/ Web site support for

Without Weaning (2006)

I am not familiar with this Lansinoh Affinity pump. I see that
someone asked on Lactnet for information on the Lansinoh Affinity
pump back in June and got no replies. I am wondering if anyone has
information to share now. I looked at user reviews on the web, but
am somewhat suspicious of that source, as glowing reviews could be
planted by the maker, and poor reviews could be planted by rivals. I
suppose that could happen on Lactnet as well, but I respect the
experience of you who have worked with lots of mothers and lots of
pumps.
