A recent post referred to an educational session during which C-i-a-C was used instead of the word formula.
This fits in with the perception of people about e.g. La Leche League. (An organisation I have the highest
regard for while remembering that emotion at times got the upper hand in meetings)

From where I sit I think it is crucial for us to distinguish clearly between education (presenting accurate information)
and education + subjective emotion which smacks of fanaticism and which I would imagine will alienate many
people in an audience and therefore close their minds to being educated.

As breastfeeding health care professionals we are already in a challenging position with our subject of study
being an emotive issue for many. If we cannot succeed in removing the emotion when educating we run the risk
of being under suspicion of being a weird fringe group.

Stating the differences between breastmilk and artificial baby milk is one thing, calling it a derogatory term a very different one.
