Dear Lactnet Friends:
I was talking about breastfeeding with a group of pediatricians and medical
students. I was asked about bedsharing. In the discussion, one pediatrician
was very firm about believing in absolutely no bedsharing. I asked her about
the studies showing that 1/3 to 1/2 of the population has the baby in bed
with them at some time or other, and her reply was that the public does many
things that aren't recommended. All she can do is make the recommendations.
So how did the HIV folks get the Safe Sex message across so strongly??
warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, BSN, Mother of 2, MS, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI, ANLC
