You are right, the folks at the Infant Risk Center did give me similar info.

However, the pediatrician asked me to retrieve the info re how long to clear it from her milk, he had already advised her to pump and dump, there was going to be no changing that. You are also right about all the other ramifications of smoking, second hand smoke, being an alert and aware parent. When I said we counseled her about using, that is what I was talking about. The family also was calling around searching for a carseat to borrow, and a place to stay. Social work was involved, but I also spoke to them about the money involved in purchasing cigarettes and pot. Many people who use but really can't afford it, have to deal the drugs (sell them) and that is another level of danger for the family. You are so right about marijuana use being a very tricky subject.
