 Medela pumps...and mold---there can definitely be a problem.  Even with the Symphony and the Lactina there is a condensation of humidity in the tubings.  If the pumps are not allowed  to run after the pumping session with just the tubings in place, there is a fine mist in the tubing that condenses in to water droplets if not removed.  Water can also be found in the domes that are placed in the Symphony.  I have found a black mold growing in the tubings on many occasions. I have not found this to be true if the mother consistently dries her tubing.  Medela definitely knows about this and I even found mention of this on the FAQ section in their site.

Jody, I did find a section on the Food and Drug Administration site about medical devices and an adverse event form that I think you should fill out.
