I may be responding a bit late, but the subject of MediHoney perked up my
ears. After reading about this product in Cathy Genna's "Selecting and
Using Breastfeeding Tools" I was curious to learn more. I found both the
100% honey wound paste and the dressings through Amazon, and have been
trying out the paste on the run of the mill wounds and scrapes that come up
in an active family of 5. The scent of the honey is prominent, which seems
to be comforting to my small sample group, smooths on cleanly, rinses off
simply with warm water, and seems easily as effective than anything else I
had used previously on small skin wounds. The 1.5 oz tube is lasting quite
well -- not sure when we'd go through it all in the normal course of
events. For $17, it has been a worthwhile experiment. =)

I haven't found any reason *not* to mention Medihoney to moms, and the
availability through Amazon makes it accessible to many, tho' I'm not sure
how the prices compare to other product sources. There is a population of
mothers in my area who prefer 'natural' interventions (or none at all) who I
think may be interested in this alternative to 'technological dressings'.

Cheers-
Monique
