Sorry, I have not had time to respond to all the responses I have gotten, I have been very busy. But I have been reading them and taking notes. Thankyou to all of you!
I will see her again tomorrow and repeat the oral exam. 1st time, palate felt good, nothing abnormal. Though it was all by feel, nothing visual, as baby was lethargic, not crying, not opening really. will check again tomorrow and will take my time to be very thorough. I think I would be able to notice a regular cleft easily enough, but can someone please remind me how to detect a submucosal cleft? I will do some research on my own, but I don't have a lot of time, so if someone could give me some quick tips, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks!
Jennifer
