Just got down to reading the Dec. issue of USLCA's Clinical Lactation last night. Much useful information in concise form. I recommend this article to all in lactation work, and think this is of value to share widely with all our medical and nursing pediatric and family practice colleagues.

Infant Reflux and Aerophagia Associated with the Maxilary Lip-tie and Ankyloglossia (tongue-tie)
Lawrence Kotlow DDS.
Examples in this article include a baby fed fully at the breast and another fed (EBM) with a bottle, both of whom had GI symptoms that had been Rx'd with meds, etc. GERD-type problems and worse, resolved completely after release of the ties, facilitating correct suckling and swallowing, with happier babies and no further Rx.
