I was discussing the issue of financial support of conferences by ABM companies with an RN who at one time thought she might sit the IBLCE exam. She said it is not possible to put on good conferences without commercial sponsorship.
Maybe yes, maybe no - considering another conference I like to attend that has NO commercial sponsorship.
She thought the restriction to be short-sighted. So I showed her our Code of Ethics, pointed out pertinent sections, and explained our mandate to follow it. So far, she has not pursued qualifying for the exam.
