I dont know if any of you will remember me from years ago. I first got
on here as an LLLL and then with your encouragement sat for my IBCLC.
So, for the last 4-5 years i have either been lurking here or been
nomail. I am very happy that I am finding the time to read more again.
I have gone back to school, got my RN, BSN and am working on my
masters. I intend tp get my pediatric or family NP in the next couple
of years. Also need to reestablish my IBCLC, as I had no time for
crepes last year when I was due.
I still have 6 kids, mostly grown now,, and have added 5
grandchildren/step grandchildren to my family. I will soon be divorced
and live with my two dogs, my bird and my 16 and 19 yo sons.
I am currently working on a pilot program to see if we can require
competencies for nurses with mother baby contact in lactation. I have
written a proposal and will be presenting it to my state senator next
week. I am very excited about this initial step, I know it may never
happen and if it does I am looking at several years of advocacy and
lobbying.
