Hello all,
My hospital's Radiology/Nuclear Med department is updating some
policies, and I have been asked to see what other hospitals are doing in
regards to recommendations for lactating mothers who have been given IV
contrast for CT or MRI studies. Most of the studies done with moms here
seem to use gadolinium-based contrast, but I want to check on specific
recommendations for any contrast agents with which you have had
experience in your practice. I have the current American College of
Radiologists' recommendations, and I will also check with Dr. Hale's
Infant Risk Center. What are you currently seeing at your hospitals?
Thanks,
Suellen Williams, RN, BSN, IBCLC
