Treating Ca during pregnancy is a touchy situation. I am reasonably sure
that after delivery, meds will be changed and/or increased. Chemo is one of
the reasons BF is a no-no. She may negotiate with drs to withhold treatment
for a few weeks and nurse baby briefly (maybe to six weeks) which will give
baby the initial good stuff.
The issue is she needs the chemo or baby may not have a mom, not whether or
not baby needs mom to breastfeed.
Very sad situation with no good answers.
Anyone on Lactnet with expertise in Ca? Pat in SNJ
