Hi Pat
I have never heard that thrush cell walls can encapsulate but it makes sense. Otherwise, how could Candida Albicans be both heat and cold resistant?
Somewhere along the long line of educational materials over 30 plus years I learned that the cell wall of thrush has to be degraded by a weak acid solution in order to "kill" it. A weak acid causes that cell wall to rupture.
The only detailed information I've read about Thrush was in a book called "The Yeast Connection" in the 1980's. I loaned my copy long ago and never got it back. (My mother developed systemic yeast following bypass surgery and it was the only comprehensive material available at the time.) I may have gotten the information about the use of vinegar from it.
The older I get the more aggravating it becomes trying to "find" references for what I say. Fortunately, I always used highlighting in text books but I have a lot of books and paper articles to go through. At least if I've pdf'ed the material I can search it.
