I have a babe who is a barracuda chomper and we've been working with this. Mom has improved the asymmetrical latch and babe is definitely improving. The concern I have is that although there was no weight loss (in fact babe was back at birth weight in 5 days) babe seems to be pistoning her jaws during feeding and mom is still complaining of chewing. My evaluation is that the babe may have a tongue tie, but it isn't one that mom feels comfortable being evaluated or clipped. Seems to be submucosal?? -- no visible frenulum but there is a divot in the tip of the tongue. Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion for helping baby and mom to be more comfortable? I'm having a hard time with this dyad.
Thanks.
