I was strolling in the city of Baltimore yesterday and came upon a picture of a young mother, an ad sponsored by BCBS and the Mayor's office, and it was a photo of a young girl and it basically warned against co sleeping at any time, under any circumstances, or your baby will die. It was a shocking ad, and I did take a photo of it. There were no risk factor discussions, nothing. Just put your baby to sleep on its back, alone, in a crib, end of sentence. It was horrifying, and I just wanted to say that it was there and I photographed it... in case anyone wants to see it. Kathleen Bruce RN IBCLC, Listmother to Lactnet. www.kbbspin.org.
