I was also told this as a nursing student in the early 70's and while pregnant with my first child. My doctor told me, "Breast milk is for human babies, cow's milk is for calves." but he also had the nurses give her cereal !!!***!!! In the nursery at 24 hours old and I was told to only feed her every 6 hours. And don't go to those nasty LLL meetings, those women are craaaaazy@!

I was warned verbally that LLLI mothers were wacko, off the deep end, Birkenstock-wearing mother earth types that refused immunizations. Never saw anything in writing. This was back in 1976-79 during my residency in North Carolina.
