Anybody out there ever had experience or heard of research on scalding or
"pasteurizing" pumped fresh milk to kill candida? A mom I speak with has
been struggling with thrush in her baby's mouth and now apparently in her
breasts too. Her doctor keeps giving her antibiotics which is making things
worse. Finally, a different doctor gave her fluconazole today and she wants
to know if she can take all the milk she has pumped over the course of this
infection and scald to kill candida. She has read that freezing does not
kill it.
In Riorden's book, 4th edition, pg. 305, it briefly mentions this "home
pasteurization of the stored milk may be considered" but it does not
describe this procedure. Anyone?
