Are you thinking of cellulitis? This is commonly confused w/ mastitis and
sometimes moms will get it with or following a bout of mastitis. One of the
biggest physical differences that you can see is the red area of the breast
has a very clear, often uneven/jagged border that is clearly defined (you
could trace the outline with a pen). It is a bacterial infection of the skin
but can also cause fever, chills, etc so many moms and providers will assume
it is mastitis. This is why in-person support is so critical.

on it briefly.
