From my study of one. I had chicken pox at age 6 months. I was formula fed and I suffered no complications other than one small scar on my leg.

Babies are protected from chicken pox if their mom is immune (as this mother is, because she has shingles) and though they can get chicken pox, in their first year, they may not get a severe enough case to develop full immunity to the virus. When I began my current job, I was checked for immunity to chicken pox because I had had it before I was a year old and I am fully immune.

You can also read about chickenpox on pp. 739 and 740 where it mentions that complications are rare in an older baby.
